Producer unawareness about the producer’s process in connection with user innovation

Eric von Hippel, MIT professor and researcher of User Innovation, provided information that producers, when interviewed, didn’t explicitly confirm that their innovation products had a connection with the user role, as part of the innovation process (design).

“Now notice, the second interesting point here was that the producers didn’t know this — they weren’t necessarily lying to us.
